This Wed is open forum night for election candidates in Ladysmith and I've gotta go as I'm new in town and I've gotta get to know these people somehow. Stan

I think you need to start a thread in the "Gatherings" section Byron. Paul mentioned he would be willing to pass along some welding skill tips. Maybe with beer, pizza and some "dues" we could convince him to come up to your place for some real world examples and those interested could make their way there. Maybe on a weekend evening? Just a thought….

Beer and Pizza will certainly be a part of the agenda. Thanks guys! B

For work. Hmmmmm, I had to look that one up. Kind of forgotten what that was like, "workin for da man" was something I had to flee at the end because the last part of my career sort of took a slow turn for the worst. It's like the old "frog in a pot of water" thing, but man it sure does creep up on you. Lots of my buddys were very afraid of retirement, but I'll tell you, it's even better than sliced bread!. The only downside to retirement is that now I'm busier than I ever was while I was "workin for da man". Stan

Well.....The point is......hmmmm I forgot,.....Oh yes, the point is......Don't sit there in a job you don't like, retire. Too many people have been brainwashed into thinking they need a million dollars in the bank before they retire, that's BS. Stan

Just a thought…. i'd be down for that. my welder is a 110v, so just point me to a plug. Pizza would be cool. I'd need to make sure i can juggle my schedule on wednesday night. does anyone have an extra welding helmet? I will need to be using mine (to show and watch) and i only have one. i figure a 7-10 timeslot would work for me. I'll bring up some metal (and misc welding stuff) to practice on / with, or we could do real-world welding on something. someone would need to prep though.
