Wow, that's amazing, thanks for sharing. Is there a story behind that bus?

A while back I posted a thread ("getting aboard") on the "Please introduce yourself" page with photos and some background. When I was cleaning out the bus , I found a hand written bill of sale from the "90s signed by a woman in Victoria. Of course I put it in a "safe place" - when I find it , I'll pass on it on ... you never know.

Nice!.... But I hope you didn't leave that remote oil cooler in that location, LOL

A neighbour who is retired from the auto body business told me about a company called Endura Paints . I contacted them and they set me up with what I needed. When they asked for colour , I told them it's a old VW code L380 turquoise -she said they had it in their file - no problem. For just under $400.00 tax and shipping included they sent enough for 2 coats each of primer/sealer , paint , the clear coat and reducers. I just have a small compressor and a cheapo gun but it seemed to handle it ok except for a couple of little glitches and the odd bug. The top half is for another time - thoroughly enjoying the drive for now. A neighbour told me " Bob, just seeing that thing going down the road puts a smile on your face."

Ya .. that was one of the first things to go. I guess to make room for the remote cooler , the doghouse had been hacked off . I'd thought better about fabricating one and ended up getting a shroud with the doghouse from Clay. It's now up and running with a stock oil cooler.

Hi - I've been away for a bit dealing with non covid health issues. Feeling much better and looking forward to some shop time doing up the interior of the Westie . Before putting it away last November , I was able to get it up on a hoist in the auto shop at the high school in town. Sprayed on an undercoat of Fluid Film and inspected the under carriage while standing up - much easier on the neck. Anyone who doesn't have access to a hoist , I'd encourage you ask at your local school or collage -shop teachers are very lonely people and would love to have someone to talk to.
Bear with me and I'll see if I can remember how to post a photo.

Bus looks great! Did you inject fluid film inside of the body structure as well?
