Tada! I think I must have had the wrong type of drill bits, it took me forever to drill the holes in the gutter. I went through about half a dozen bits. I drilled holes that were just a bit narrower than the screws I was using to ensure a snug fit. Then I taped the C rail in place and marked holes on it by drilling marks through the rain gutter holes. Took off the C rail and gently drilled holes on a bench, put it back in place, lined up the 2 sets of holes and injected a good squirt of silicone into the holes before putting the screws in. It lined up just fine. Be sure not to over tighten this type of stainless steel screw otherwise the heads could snap off. Besides it doesn't take much to hold these in place. This awning was originally made by Jeune Bros. for an orange '73 Westfalia, but I think it looks great with this orange too. Shade at Volksfest, woo hoo! And yes Don, I was careful to wipe any excess silicone off the surrounding area Are you still looking for a piece of C rail?

Nice job Tom. Looks great! Bring your bench grinder and drill bits and I will show you how to sharpen them God how I hate dull bits, and it is so easy to get them cutting again! I will have a look at your set up at Volksfest and figure out if it will work for me. Might indeed need some of that C channel. We'll see. Cheers, Don
