It will need body work. There is a patch on the driver's side front quarter panel underneath the fender that should be redone. The heater channels are original, but are starting to go through in places. It had taken a punch in the nose at some time as the apron shows signs of damage. Overall it is not bad for a 47 year old car, but will need some welding to make it better. The front fenders are not original to the car, but the owner says the previous owner replaced them with original VW parts. Apparently the originals are included, but I did not see them...

What project VW of this era doesn't need some bodywork. Most of us could do with some bodywork, and both of my cars are older than I am!

Not me. Hope the new owner realizes its rarity and doesn't hack it up too much...

That was a bunch of work that guy did, but it really turned out great. Kudos to him! It should be sitting in your driveway Russ!

When I win the lottery I will track it down and restore it. And a few others. Possibly dozens...

nanaimo.craigslist.ca/cto/6013355958.htmlYes, this is the same Canadian Custom as shown earlier in this thread. The owner has finally set a price and it is not cheap. Car has not been driven for some time now and will likely need a lot of work to make it road ready again... You know this piece of history needs to be saved!

Yeah, ouch $4K! I don't recall the ask on the other green one(that the thread started with), but I don't think it was that high...

It started at $4k, then went down to $3800. It was quite original, and probably in better cond than the one currently being offered.

That first one kinda feels like the one that go away. I liked it a lot. This new one is cool too, but but that's pretty rich. B
