Hey folks, I know that most of you guys don't seem to drink beer. In fact, MIACVW club might be the most alcohol free car club I'm aware of. Hopefully you will still be able to appreciate this latest project. Last Wednesday during our usual shop night, I was talking with a local guy who does awesome restorations on vintage gas pumps, dentist chairs, 356s, vintage trucks and, well everything you can imagine. We decided to build something that I'm sure you may have seen online before. But this one is special because it's mine! In less than a week, the only thing left to do is the installation of two keg taps (handles will be made to look like wiper blades), and running the lines for the CO2 and local beer. I'll probably swap out the green emblem for a chrome one. The large chrome emblems are expensive though and this is what I had. It should be done by this Wednesday, making this the quickest turn around on any VW project I have ever kicked off. The fridge is a 1941 Frigidaire, and it still works like a boss. Anyone want to come over for a nice local pint of beer? Thanks to Clay for hooking me up with the headlight parts!

What...no one likes beer?! Perhaps I should have done a patina job on it. That would have generated some noise. :-)

No comment because it is a splitty instead of a bay...

Awesome because IT IS a Splitty and NOT a bay😛
I find the steering in my VWs is vague enough without bringing beer into the equation. That said I like a cold one when I'm tinkering on the cars in the garage, but there's so much crap in there that I don't have room for a nice fridge like that.
I'm English so beer is a part of my staple diet.

That's better! I don't really have room for it either, but once the ball was rolling I couldn't stop!
Thanks all! B

That's a myth. Yes it does! LOL was just having you on. Seriously though, different beers taste better at different temperatures. Then again it can simply be a matter of taste, here's an article that explains it quite well. Cold Beer? Warm Beer? Select the Right Serving Temperature beerandbrewing.com/VLbISSkAADaRo-5e/article/cold-beer-warm-beer-select-the-right-serving-temperature35–40°F (2–4°C): Mass market light lagers 40–45°F (4–7°C): Czech and German Pilsners, Munich Helles, wheat beers, and Kölsch 45–50°F (7–10°C): IPAs, American pale ales, porters, and most stouts 50–55°F (10–13°C): Belgian ales, sour ales, Bocks, English bitters and milds, Scottish ales 55–60°F (13–16°C): Barleywines, imperial stouts, Belgian strong ales, and Doppelbocks "When in doubt remember this rule of thumb: light body and low alcohol beer tastes better cold while full body and high alcohol examples are better warmer."

Stop the insanity!!!! Enjoying a glass of beer is supposed to be a simple pleasure, not a task fraught with temperature monitoring and figuring out which seasonal additives ruining the flavour to avoid! I'm getting sooooo confused!
Beer. It's not just for breakfast.

Beer. It's not just for breakfast. I don't think I've ever had beer for breakfast. Vodka yes, but not beer. Then you haven't lived! Stay thirsty my friends :-D

Beer for breakfast is a bit keen for me. But I'm willing to give it a try now that I have the facilities in place.
Thanks for the funny comments dudes. B
