well, it's come and gone and I still can't figure out how to post pics.
A lil run down, and i promise to learn to post, even if I have to "kick it old school" and get on my desktop.
Some of you may know I had engine troubles, so I couldn't make it to Volksfest. I got a hold of a reliable engine builder in Langley and had him build me one. It was completed and I picked it up a lil over a week before I was to leave to CJ.

I do get the sense there is more to the story.
1) Was Atlantis real? 2) Where is Amelia Earhart? 3) Is Bigfoot a thing? 4) Did Hitler escape 5) Will what happened at CamperJam stay at CamperJam?

well, I installed the motor and put a few kilometers on it, and it seemed to be fine, until I was loaded and headed to the ferry. Headin up the hill to Duke point it seemed to be fading, and as I approached the Ferry terminal, it was boggin out. I paid and parked and shut it off, only to have it not want to start. Checked the normal stuff, vacuum hoses, timing etc, and all seemed fine. a 20 minute wait and dammed if the bus didnt start right up. Once we go to the other side, I started it up and all seemed fine. we drove off the ferry, and dammed if if wouldnt rev up or accelerate. Max speed, 30 mph. Not a good thing when yer departing the Tswassen ferry.Got as far as the first pull out and again, pulled over to check stuff. Unhooked the pod and tried a test ride that way, but same problem. I decided to call the motor rebuilder and he was happy to oblige. "Yea, bring it on over and lets have a look" he says! I explained where I was, and that I could in no possible way drive on the hwy's at 50 kms/hr to his place. He said to hang on and he'd"hook me up"

$200 tow bill later, we go it up on the hoist and started to go thru things to try and determin what the problem was. He did what we all do, and tried to figure out if it was something simple. Timing was ok, but we changed dizzy, just in case. Had noisey lifter, ordered a new one and replaced it, checked again for vacuum leaks, and nothing seemed wrong. It was getting late so he decided to start pulling the shroud to access the oil pump.

Lucky for me, I had received a text from an old high school bud who was wondering how my trip was going. I explained I was stuck in Langley waitn to find out. He asked where, and told me he worked a few blocks away, and if I needed anything, to let him know. As the clock was ticking and I was running out out time, Duane (the shop owner) offered up extension chords and wifi and his parking lot, but much to my surprise, my friend showed up, and said, come to my place. We quickley accepted, and hooked up the pod and took off. Life amazes me sometimes how people seem to be put in our paths to make some struggles a lil less overwhelming. We camped at his place that night

The road trip up was uneventful, other than the ever increasing smoke from all the wild fires. We stopped just outside of Vernon for a quick snack and a dip and was then on to CamperJam 2017 All though the smoke was present, it seemed to not be happering the grounds, nor the spirits of the campers. Again we had over 60 buses from all over showing up. One nicely outfitted Syncro showed up from California, a nice green late bay from Quebec, and quite a few from nearer provinces and states the green bus was from Quebec, headed to Tofino/and a annual attender from Kimberly Sara and her son Spencer in his bus, Buster made the long haul up one of the locals champange edition, who help immensley with orginizin and set up our lil set up with my cohart in crime, Richard, from Cranbrook and of course, our very own coffee shop .... i believe they sold "bunz" as well,

to end the story, I got back to Langley and my motor was ready for install. It turned out to be a failed cam. He rebuil the motor and reinstalled it and I was on the next ferry home. Just a heads up to anyone looking for a good mechanic, respectable person, and a great business, Check out "Duanes German Autohaus" in Langley, just off the bypass
