Terry's second oval. One is a '56, the other is a '57. Don't remember which is which but it must be cool to have two ovals. This one needs some repairs, but will be nice again eventually.
Ovals have very simple dashboards. I always love the Deluxe flat steering wheels in these cars. For those that don't know, the knob on the dash next to the key is for the manual choke on these cars.
Also in the same garage, was Terry's Studebaker restoration project. Many '30s era American cars featured pinstripes on the wheels like his shows. A neat feature.
Last batch to come

This is Terry's fun car, an oval that he can take out cruising without worrying about if people might put their dirty fingerprints on it. He has a neat old '57 Evinrude outboard for the boat too! As usual, Don liked those big knobby tires on the back. Terry has owned this car forever and knew the previous owner too.
.
I thought that was a Mercury head emblem in the dash, but it is actually from an old Pontiac. Likely covering up a hole for a long vacated gauge. Interesting radio too.
This is Candice and Ron's recently acquired 1972 Deluxe. Very solid, the bus just needs some new paint and interior work to be really nice. They are happy with it so far and that is good!
There is a surprise in the back however. An upright motor has been installed in place of the original 1700 type IV engine. The conversion cooling tins have been well made and fitted and it runs and drives well.
This was found in Terry's crawl space. A Francis Barnett motorbike! Terry has a lot of interesting treasures! I would like to thank him a lot for the tour and putting up with us for the afternoon. Terry you are always welcome to drop by anytime you are in town.
And finally, we decided to take the inland highway back home. Not really the best choice in an old bus that is happiest at less then 100km/hour, and certainly is a handful at 120! Got home much quicker however... A lot of bugs ended their life on the front of the bus too which was somewhat gross. Overall it was a great day and we wish Terry well with his projects... And thanks for the vintage VW paint too!

Sooo, it was brought to my attention that this thread was missed when all the photos were transferred from Photosucket to Imgur. That has now been rectified and please tell me what other threads may have been missed and I will restore them... And how are you doing lately Terry? Anything new to report on your projects???
