I have not missed this in years. Going to see it, but not entering a car this year. You must pre register a LONG way in advance for this show now via the internet. This policy irritated a lot of people but the organizers are continuing with it...

I am heading up with Brian and Victor just before 9:00. We just gotta have the breakfast as it is kind of a tradition... Dad will be up there all day with the Ute. Weather should be spectacular so there will be lots of things to see...

Sadly I am having to give it a miss because the green Westy has me bummed. I yet again gave myself a deadline and again failed to make it happen . So, no fun for me….take in the sights and have a great day people! I trust Russ will be using is fine automotive eye to capture the best on film and post up later

Procrastination is a fantastic thing Don. You can always do it later.

must admit that i have skipped this show the past few years but really enjoyed it today (til the big crowds hit around noon) seemed larger!! was mostly well laid out, some top quality cars and something for almost everyone's taste.saaaaadlllly lacking in aircooled representation however, except for some very nice type 2s and an exquisite late 50s speedster(that runs poorly, hehe). not throwing any stones here but i think you guys got some nice cars down there(and up here)maybe its time we take over a street of our own in Q.B. next year....just saying...

So a glorious day it was in very sunny Qualicum. Lots and lots of very nice cars to look at as well as other benefits... Breakfast was the usual pancakes, sausage, and hash, and was inhaled within seconds. Then off to take a few pictures. As usual, things got crazy around noon with thousands of people there to see the 550 registered cars. It was a little light on the VWs this year however, and we will resolve to do better next year! Brian and I are determined to drive our Ghias next year... It must be done! Anyway, onto the cars...
An uncommon BMW.
First up is Harley's 1966 Doormobile camper. And quite nice it is...
I am assuming it is a Westfalia with Doormobile top, or Doormoblile with Westfalia interior. Anyway it is very nice inside.
For you Coleman collectors... A NOS 1965 stove. I have a well used version of this that still works great when camping. Makes me think of bacon just looking at it...
Here is a 23 window deluxe microbus that comes to this show almost every year. The owner has had it for decades, long before they were the high dollar vehicle they are today. He uses it as intended too...
I don't think I have seen this particular Rabbit pickup before. Rather bold graphics...
You don't see many Opel Kadetts out there, do you. Wonder if it has been to the Ring???
I am not normally into Porsches at all, but this 1959 1600 Super is pretty nice. The owner must hate it when it gets confused for one of those kit cars...
High performance in the day, but could be blown away by pretty much anything nowadays...
Love the interior in these models...
No shortage of woody wagons this year. This '54 Chevrolet was nice, but I think the wood was painted on for this model.
This custom Caddy had paint so bright it had to be seen to be believed.
Always had a thing for Torinos. That is one huge fastback!
More to come...

Oh look, Don has his tug for sale!!!
This was Dad's first show for his '37 Chevrolet Ute. There was a crowd around it all day...
Dad's buddy Al had his very rare Meteor woody hot rod. It sits on an ex cop car chassis with 4.6 Litre V8.
Yes I still have a soft spot for 1967 Cougars. I had mine for 19 years...
This Barracuda belongs to an acquaintance of mine. He also has a very sweet fastback Mustang all tricked out too.
You don't see many of these around, a Volvo Canadian.
Not in the show, but parked on a side street for sale. This has been in the Samba for $8000, wheels NOT included. I last heard the price was now $6000 for anyone interested. It was a European spec 1973 model with factory dual carbs.
The interior had some cool accessories including multi band radio, trip odometer, and check out that horn ring...
Stan showed up a bit later in his Ghia which was looking nice. Interesting license plate frame on the back...
This '67 Dart convertible looked nice to me.
I always like nice old pickup trucks. This GMC had lots of chrome.
New cars do little for me but I will make an exception for this... A 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. Features two different ignition keys. If you are feeling a bit frisky, insert the RED key and you will access the full 707 horsepower!!! And this is a factory unmodified regular production car. And I even like the colour...
How about this. On Saturday I was filling up the bus with gas at Chevron. Guy next to me says "Nice bus, what year?". Then I realize he is driving something I have only ever seen in pictures, a 1968 Lamborghini 400 2+2! You don't see that every day...
I am pretty sure I wouldn't want to sync 6 carbs on this V-12! Quite the machine...
Next year we must get more VW's in the show!
