This VW powered bike/sidecar combo was interesting. Lots of creative work went into this. I have not seen this '59 for many years. It was for sale for a cool $21,000 if you are interested... You could also buy this Ghia convertible for a much larger pile of moola. Nice Canadian Standard oval Beetle. There is the Gordmobile. He won Best Beetle award at the show. A late model SuperBeetle. Patina galore featured on Sean's '62. Don't remember any details about this one... This one is kind of interesting, a 1971 Canadian Custom model. These featured 1600 engines by this time. Note the plain steering wheel with no horn ring or Wolfsburg crest. And here is Mitch's main ride, his bright '67... And here is Mitch's other ride, the "Rolled Muddler" race car... Can you say "turbo"? I knew you could... And here is that nice '65 again, that seems to be at most shows. Continued...

Stan's Ghia looking good. Funky windows in this Baja Bug. This early convertible was once a Baja! Owner is returning it to original. My own '62 made the trek up island. Don says I went to fast on the way home. Sure... Now onto some buses. This is of course HighTopRob's Big Blue '73. Harley's camping display always draws a crowd. I think he won Best Bus as well. This splitty was nice and clean. There is Don's short split again. This VW has seen a lot of use this summer as well. This bus is, uh, "colourful"... A late Westy in Don's favourite colour! I did like the 38 year old Parks Canada sticker on the vent window. There were some water-cooled VW's there as well. This Sirocco was one of them. Another Sirocco, this time a Mk 2 version. This WWII era Willys Jeep was pretty cool. Lots of gear levers to play with. Reagh showed up a bit later in his Double Cab. His original interior in this is amazing. Brent was late too, but that was because he was camping in Sooke the night before and did a lot of driving to make it here. We spent a good amount of time under his awning to avoid the very hot sun as well... Overall it was a great first effort for a show like this, and I hope Mitch and the other organizers were happy with the results...
