Can you change the rod bearings on a type 4 engine without splitting the case like you can on a type 1 block? T

I thought so if your doing a top end rebuild for the extra 50 bucks it is worth putting in new rod bearings really not that much extra work I do it on type 1 motors with ease never tried it on a type 4. Terry
