I always used to go with my Dad to the dump when I was a kid in the '70's. My favourite finds were a stack of those small novel sized HotRod Magazines from the 1950's, various toys, and a $2 bill (maybe Tony dropped his pay that day???)

Omg, what did I start here!
Honestly, I did it cause yes, I camp tonnes and felt throwing those green bottles away was bad, and always wondered if they could be recycled/filled.
Great convo boys, lol.

I actually have “proper” filling adapter. Lol. I bought it in the USA. I don’t think it’s legal to sell in Canada. And I’ve done the chill the tank trick too. But after you go and spend 50$ for all the fittings, the propane to fill the mother tank, and the whiskey you need to drink while doing this.... it’s cheAper to buy the little green tanks as you need them. Side Note: mine never refilled very well after they were emptied. Might be all the holes from the shot gun. After all, they are emptied on camping trips.
And before any bus driving hippies spills their chia tea, the blown up tanks were always brought out of the bush. You guys are AWSOME.

I got the official adapter also but is sure wasn't $50. I got it sent from China and I think it was around $10. Stan
