Hello MIAC; My name is John, and I currently own 2 air-cooled VWs: a 66 1300 beetle and a 67 Kombi. My first car was a 60 beetle, bought in Toronto in 1970. It had low mileage but lots of rust, and been patched a lot with pieces of sheet metal fastened with screws and pop-rivets. I turned it into a mud mucker with fenders and front end trimmed back and wide tires on the back. It died a natural death in Vancouver when the torsion bars no longer had any metal to hang onto. Next car was a squareback, then a 71 van which I loved. Sold that van in 1975 when my new wife could not reach the pedals. Since then have had a 74 westie project and an 81 Vanagon westie. Each car was a learning experience and fun to drive - too many stories to tell here. However, the boss says I have too many cars, and one old VW is enough, so the red beetle has to find a new home. I posted it on Craigslist today. It had been a showroom eyecatcher at a VW dealer until about 10 years ago; they installed a factory rebuilt engine and replaced the major frame structure that supports the motor and transaxle. It has some rust in front of the rear wheel wells but is otherwise solid. It runs well. I don't have the shop, skills or time to do what it wants done. Let me know if you are interested by text to 250-739-3606. I would post photos of the Kombi and beetle but have not figured out how. John

There is no such thing as "too many cars".
