Hey guys! I get to be one of those guys that joins just to post a for sale add haha. I'm fresh back from Mexico where I spent a few months. Picked up my first air-cooled car down there. I had the idea to sell her in Canada and pay for a work trip overseas. I do like these cars. Very mechanical. A bit on the slow side for my tastes but that's fine! If anyone has questions about what was involved or anything don't be shy! 2002 unknown km I will be heading east next week, but thought i would give BC a first crack at her. Not BC registered. I will link the usedVic add as I don't know how to link pics. Thanks! James www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/2002-Volkswagen-Beetle_32433855.lite

Those injected models would make a great daily driver as they get significantly better fuel economy than any previous Beetle model. Note that they are a completely different fuel injection than the '70's versions sold here. If I didn't have so many other projects, I would be interested...

Yes. It must be the most efficient car I have owned. Some funky stuff with them. Flat windshield and swing axle.

Do you have a Mexican registration/title/whatever they use, in your name? Have you checked into what paperwork is required from the Mexican authorities to get the car registered in Canada? Since this forum is "free" we do not pay for attachment space and you have to post pics using imgur or equivalent. There is a tutorial here: miacvw.proboards.com/thread/960/post-big-juicy-pictures-imgurGLWTS...

Yes I have ownership and will be registering the car in my home province of Ontario if I don't sell her prior. The car went through/cleared customs a few days ago.
I have owned a couple imported Japanese cars before. The industry used to be pretty big in Canada.
Thanks! James

Alright guys. Driving East today. I suppose I will leave the ad up, unless someone wants me to delete it. But you may have to come to Ontario to get her haha.
Thanks all!

Maybe not! Stuck in Crows nest pass with a no start. She didn't like the old the other day. Seems to have spark and fuel. Might be flooding.
So it may be good no one picked her up, haha!!

Hope you get it resolved soon. Parts for that EFI might be fun to find in this area. Can't offer much advice as I have not seen one of those systems in person...

I don't imagine those new fangled fuel systems have any of those altitude/fuel adjusters?!?! (I think Crows Nest is close to a mile high)

I wondered about that, but would assume the capability to compensate would be built in...
