I believe since it's in a holder and probably set up fur vehicle functions, we get a "get out of jail free" card. Cool though eh, your phone is the dash

Ah but the cell phone is fixed to the dash and is therefore legal. It's also a heck of a lot smaller than the screen on a Tesla and it's not down on the lower part of the dash board. I do love the headlights though. Stan

Nobody will ever make me believe that a flickering screen anywhere in my peripheral vision doesn't have the power to draw my attention to it. Evolutionarily, be we predator or prey, our eyesight has allowed us to survive by being cognisant of our surroundings. This means paying attention to slight changes in light and shape, nearby or on the horizon. I don't care how we manipulate what is on the screen, we are still attracted to it, taking our eyes, and attention, off the road. Just MHO...
