Sooo, what do you think is our beloved Volkswagen's most popular product they sell? Is it the Jetta? Golf GTI? Beetle? Nope, but it does have an official part number of 199 398 500A. So what is that? An oil filter? Sparkplug? Re-manufactured Vanagon engine? Nope, nope, nope. Something much more tasty then that.... There it is. VW's best selling product. Seriously. They have been producing this sausage product, right at the Wolfsburg factory since 1973! That is 47 years of continuous production... Originally the product was produced for the factory cafeteria and eaten by the workers, but it proved to be extremely popular. It is served in all the various VW factories in Europe, and is available at local grocery stores too. It is also commonly given away at dealerships to new car purchasers. You can get it in the official VW museum cafe too! Wolfsburg produces upwards of 20,000 of these sausages every day, and 40 percent are consumed by the factory workers. In 2018, 6.81 million VW currywurst sausages were produced. This often exceeds all VW production of vehicles for each year... Mmmm, yum yum! Unfortunately not available here...

Yum! Yum! is right, but they WERE available here. in the '70s at a little drive-in on Broadway.
A group of us UBC students used to stop regularly on our way home from classes on Monday evenings.
Those were the days!
