This is something that has come up lately for me and thought I would mention it... If you are like me, you might have a project or two on the go, but nowhere near drivable. Well whether you like it or not, our old VWs are still going up in value, and some of those project cars are worth more than you think. My Fastback has been apart for awhile now, and is not currently roadworthy. Recently it was brought to my attention that Hagerty has agreed value insurance available for those project cars you have stashed away... Savannah Beige has been sitting around for some time without any insurance on it. ICBC won't allow even storage insurance on it until it will pass a safety inspection. Hagerty was OK with this as the car is registered to me. I asked if Hagerty would give agreed value of around $2000 each for the Beetle and the Fasty. It turns out their minimum value on project cars is $3500 per car, but accepted this for both of the cars via pictures. Keep in mind that I have a bunch of other Hagerty policies, but insuring these "as is" only cost $140 per year. Seems reasonable to me. Maybe some of you might look into this for your projects on the go...

My local Autoplan agent offers Hagerty policies. I just deal with them instead of Hagerty directly. Maybe your local agent can do this too???
