Don't have any good local recommendations at all. Most people buy new heads now. I recommend Northwest Connecting Rod in Kent Washington. But they ain't local...

Russ is right, I checked some years ago and found that new heads were actually cheaper than what a local (in the interior) machinist shop was going to charge. The machinist shop was unsure of a time line to do the job as well. It was a case of "when one of our apprentices gets some extra time they will get to it." I wasn't impressed. Stan
Definition: "Sarcasm refers to the use of words that mean the opposite of what you really want to say, especially in order to insult someone, or to show irritation, or just to be funny. For example, saying "they're really on top of things" to describe a group of people who are very disorganized is using sarcasm"

CIP1 gives you 3 stock options from the looks of things. Empi, Kuhltec and "O.E. Brand". Don't be fooled by the deceiving suggestion of that last brand...it doesn't mean "Original Equipment"! It's a chinese made head. I can't speak to the quality of any of the three brands. I do have a large collection of used dual port heads though, and Rick Hogg (I don't think he's on the forum) may be able to rebuild them for you. He's in the Chemainus area. www.hoggsvwrepair.com/
