Been getting the bits and pieces on the Bus. Although first things first…take off the offending aftermarket sway bar on the front. No matter which way the flex hose was routed, it rubbed on the sway bar. After exploring the options potentially available, I could not come up with a good solution. Then I did some reading on aftermarket sway, or stabilizer, bars. Most of what I read said the engineers at VW made the Bus drive safe and well the way it was set up from the factory. The front has enough of a stabilizer bar and the rear has none. Those that did some testing, like Ratwell, seemed to come up with some undesirable results when a rear sway bar was installed, such as uneven tire wear. Uh, what? No thanks…so they both came off. I like the way a Bus drives just fine without some aftermarket add-ons potentially causing a problem or allowing a person to have a false sense of security when overdriving its limits(that would be felt otherwise). So for safety's sake, the Bus is now as it should be, stock. Old brake flex hose covered in duct tape Offending bar off Both bellows fitted. Not without some monkey business, though. Darn asbestos rings were trying to fall apart and until I thought of using aluminum tape, they gave me a bunch of trouble. Engine compartment all together except leisure battery LHS battery tray came out looking pretty good, if I do say so myself Wheels on with new tires after brakes were bled. Getting closer!

Getting pretty excited!!! Looking pretty sharp with those white wheels on. What's next? Test drive?? It is looking sharp! Good choice! Well…. driver's kick panel, bumpers, battery hold down, hubcaps, then a day permit on a good day, and yup, test drive. YAY There's nothing like the smell of some nice new rubbery bus tires Smells like "road trip"! It's a lot quieter than those Hueys If only the engine was broken in, lol

Beautiful! Man, this bus is sure to turn a couple heads while driving down the road. As Don said, I'd like to uninstall the front wheel mount sometime in the future but for the time being you won't be hearing any complaints from me about it! Looks good!
