Brent found this picture and it just had to be reproduced here...  This was a bit before my time at Nanaimo District Secondary School, which was the only high school in Nanaimo in that era. My VW Beetle would not be in that parking lot until 1985... |

So I just realized something about the above picture. I attended that school from '85-'87, but my older sister was there from '80-'82. In the center of the picture is a white 1960 Oldsmobile that belonged to one of her friends. At that time my sister was driving my '70 Beetle before I owned it, and it was red then. That red Beetle is about the right year for my car, but I don't think it actually is mine. If only the picture was a bit clearer...

I was there from '80-'82 as well. Desperately searched for my red '63 in the pic, alas, to no avail. But I'm diggin' all those Datsun pickups!

I recall some good times in that parking lot! Apparently there is a school somewhere nearby. 😆 '78-'80
