I took my 1972 Super Beetle convertible in to Bavarian Imports for front end noise and they suggested that I need to replace my Idler Arm. I can't find one through any of the VW parts suppliers including several US sites that I searched. Any chance that anyone may have a suggestion where to find one? Or maybe someone has one kicking around there place. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I definitely have one here in Port Alberni. You'll probably want to order the bronze bushing and have the bushing replaced, however. Typically we don't replace the idler arm, but rebuild them with the bronze bushing.
Getting it to you from Port Alberni *might* be a challenge with the highway, but I think Canada Post is still running.

Confirming I found a 1972 unit here at my place. I actually also have the Bronze replacement bushing, but haven't put a hand on it yet.

Thank you. I was told that I needed the Idler Arm which would lead me to believe it is the idler arm specifically. I ended up finding the full idler arm assembly from a 1973 which I believe may work. I also bought a new brass bushing for the 1972 in case that is all that they really need. It is going in to Bavarian on Thursday and if what I have won't solve the problem then I will get in touch with you for yours from the 1972.
