I thought I'd post this car here before making it available far and wide, mostly because she's not overly photogenic at the moment and I don't want people judging her before she gets gussied up a bit!
1973 Super Beetle
29,000 Original miles - it has been off the road since the early '80s. (There's absolutely no way it would be this clean and solid if it had 129,000 miles!!!)
NO RUST or accident damage, all original metal, no rust repairs done
97% complete, but some assembly is required. (I say 97% because I haven't inventoried the parts to confirm that everything is there. But I think I've got everything together for it, or have it available.)
Clean BC Registration in my name.
- Complete interior in good condition
- Four new fenders
- 1600cc dual port - currently needs final hookups and a few pieces bolted on (one of the things I plan on doing before the "official" listing)
- new/good bumpers
- all glass installed and in good condition
- headlights and signal lights included but not currently installed
- Needs - new tires, some assembly, a good tuneup, paint to taste.
The story, as I can gather, is that it appears to have been taken off the road in the early 80's and the exterior painted burgandy (car was originally orange). For whatever reason, it sat. And sat. Then people started taking parts for other projects, replacing them with the old worn out parts (think tires, fenders, seats, engine, etc). I've collected new or very good used replacement parts which are included with the sale.
This is the cleanest, most rust free Super Beetle I've come across in many years. I have enough other projects and not enough space that it's time for this one to find another home so I have a bit of room (and cash!) to work on my primary project. Overall this is an easy project to undertake and be driving this summer.
If you, or anyone you know is interested, message me with your email address and I'll send some photos.
Asking price is $7,000. I'm not really interested in trades but may consider partial trades (you give me something plus $$$) if the trade is interesting enough. But mostly I would like cash.
