hey all,
not sure if this is a fit for vw discussion but I have read countless suggestions online for how to clear up oxidized/uv'd plastic headlights. Have tried a few and have had less than great results. I trust this group for good, helpful advice. Any suggestions?

I used a $15 kit by Meguiars that I bought at Canadian Tire on the old ladies 20 year old Honda and it did an excellent job on the headlights!!! 6-8 months later they're still great and the headlights were horrendous before that.

If Tony bought it(and it worked), it couldn't have been overpriced!

Thank you Tony! I appreciate it! Got the kit today. Drew Hopefully it works well for you , I think you could use what they give you several times and maybe in the future just buy the disks separately. 😎

If they are bad, try starting with a 1500, then 2000 grit wet and dry paper. Use a drop of detergent in the water and keep the paper clean. I mask off the paint work adjoining the headlight to avoid scuffing it. After that, the kit that Tony suggested. The sanding bit can be a bit scary at first, especially when the headlight becomes completely opaque! It takes quite a bit of work, but my Tacoma headlights came up like new.
