Looking for an alternator pulley for a Bosch AL-26X short shaft alternator. Like this: alleuro.com/Parts/Bosch-Remanufactured/AL26XI found an alt, but I still need a pulley. Stubby lil' guy. With the nut deep inside the dish of the pulley. Who's got a pile of alternators kicking around? I'll buy the whole alternator if I have to.

If you only knew how much Mk 1 stuff we once had at the shop, and how all of it ended in the metal bin, because there was zero demand for any of it...

Do you know what the offset of the pulley is? Seems like there are different pulleys for different applications? What car is it going on?

Well, it's an 81 Caddy, 1.6 Diesel, w/o a/c. Short shaft Bosch alt. Pulley fits like this: www.ebay.com/itm/265001795683Pulley O.D. - 74mm Pulley depth - 32mm If you have a pile, take pics. Maybe we'll get lucky!

I do have a few Mk1 diesel alternators. I'll see what I can find.

Are you sure about the 32mm depth? I have a couple here that are about 48mm total depth. One is on an all original 81 Jetta 1.6D. I know the Mk2s use a different pulley offset, although I cant recall if it's more or less. Possibly a later engine swapped in?

Have you thought about calling the alternator rebuilding guy across from the airport? I recall he has a tonne of spare bits...none of it organized

That would be A&B Alternators. They rebuilt my Bus (Van) and Ghia generators a few months ago. They're great to deal with.

I was unaware of them. I'll give it a shot.
Cheers!

Oh. THAT airport. No wonder I'm unfamiliar. If he has what you need, I am close and could pick it up and ship it or bring it down at some point, if that helps at all. Cheers.
