very bright! but apparently not the best beam pattern.reports i have read state that they are hard to adjust and lack the focus for the high beam range.someone(Frank) buy a set and test em,and let us know.

Fans?! Seems needlessly complicated. I gained a new respect for sealed beams after refurbishing the headlights on my '74 bus last year. I've used H4 lamps in the past and noticed how they had an annoying habit of steaming up after a heavy rain. Ran a set of the standard 7 inch Halogen Sylvania sealed beams all through last camping season and they worked just fine, nice and bright, and no fan And much to Russ's delight, I removed the eyelids.

Frank??? That would mean he would have to drive his car!!! Or just set them up on the shop was. My 2 cents.... I think led lighting takes away from the classic look of older cars and their original bulds. Safety or not.... I like the old.

I run a set of H4's in my Ghia with high output halogen lamps. I would never go back to the OG candles. I like the idea of LEDS for the rear, but not so certain about the blue hospital light style for the front. Maybe if they could add a yellow tinge to them?

I meant Halogen Sealed Beam (I corrected myself above) Of course the original equipment low power sealed beam headlights seem archaic now. I think back to how my parents and grandparents could have coped with those back in the day.

Looks much better, Tom. I ran H4s in my daily driver '70 Beetle for 17 years. Don't know if they were brighter than a halogen sealed beam, but I though they looked cooler and that was all that mattered back then... I do remember how much better a halogen sealed beam was over a regular sealed beam... If I ever do restore my first Beetle, it will get a fresh set of H4s...

I run home built LED's in the back, dang bright! I don't like the look of the headlights. In my effort to return my 74 to its original wiring scheme, I will be getting rid of the rear LEDs during the restoration.

Tail light and signal LEDs make a lot of sense given how the bulb housings tend to crumble in this climate.

The climate in my garage is quite dry... All that sawdust really soaks up the moisture doesn't it( I ground it into my work clothes pretty good that time) Then again, from your reports it is probably tile dust at the moment As long as those VWs are inside, that's the main thing. I will have to work on that once I lose my shop. I thought you liked the interior in your Bus? We can talk about it sometime...

I'm running LED headlights (yes, with the fans) in my Toyota 4x4, in the Ol' Lady's Tacoma, the girls '74 Super convertible, and in Project '59. The lighting is FANtastic. (See what I did there?) With some good lenses in front of them, they are awesome. Super white light, super bright, and no problems when properly aimed. And with my LED light bar, when I flash you the high-beams, you'll know it. Retina rippers. Halogens are so last century. I'll never go back.
