Ha, you think you ran across a challenge. My bus is a 74, with a 76 engine with dual carbs. I will probably have to buy a longer accelerator cable and cut it short to get one to fit.

replaced original because it was too short. new one same length. looks like longest one cip has.

Is the guide tube above the transmission seated fully?

This is from my 914 , it is used to extend the heater cable at the heater box, It looks like it would do the same for the throttle cable at the carb end.  |

I may have one of those I will look today but check to see if the throttle cable has a wrap over the clutch cable I had a friend do that job and every time he stepped on the clutch the car revved up. T |

Yes. Fixed. I bought a universal cable. Just cut to length.
