I acquired these in a trade with a fellow member. 2 CKOs, a red bus and a blue single cab, also a red welly Technically, that tin Bus and SC are KOVAP. On the bottom they often say, CKO REPLICA(sometimes it is just a sticker). The true CKO/Kellermann models just have CKO stamped in the base and they are often painted red. Which is unlike the Czech replicas which are generally unpainted.

Well I got the engine out today! It was a stubborn one plus I forget to take off the front tin and oil filler spout before I started. By leaving those on it doesn't slide forward easily 😑. Anyway the next step...OFF WITH ER HEAD 😋. Plus finding that extra head may pose a problem because for the life of me I can't remember where it is!! One thing is a bonus, she is very clean. There is very little oil and grime on it 😁😄😊

Hey guys I have made some progress on changing a head on the project motor. After partialy removing the fan shroud in order to get some of the cooling tin out of the way I was off to the races. After getting the head off it confirmed that a valve guide had fallen down and was blocking the value from closing. Here are a few pics, and I have to mention that I'm pretty sure this engine has been rebuilt in the recent past.

A few more pictures The blue inside the head is a shop towel in the intake port. But you can see how far down the valve guide is showing. Until next time!! 😁😱 Hey Russ can you believe it, no broken exhaust studs!!!!!!!

Nice. At least it is not a greasy mess like most old bus engines. Wonder what has been done internally???

Awesome to have this thread going. It's amazing how much we have learned over the years. So great that you have the confidence to just attack that engine like that. Well done man!
Good to have ya back bro! B

Is that like 2 Rons? Is Byron slated to be the next Action Jackson with a cool rusty VW hoard?
