Ok ok, first it needs a trip to the paint booth! And then Russ she will be reassembled 😱. Hey Byron I'm glad to hear that I am not the only one who forgets things in motors hehe. And ya we now know that it will be burnt up and exit out the exhaust!! I still can't believe I did that 😲

Looks good Rob. Just remember the next time you put an engine together and want to highlight something in the intake manifold, maybe use tissue paper but DO NOT USE TINFOIL! Stan

Classic move. When I started my engine build under the guidance of a fellow member (who I hope still checks in here), he said "rule #1, no booze or whatever your choice of recreation is until after the tools are put down". I'm sure everyone follows that!!! Mistakes happen.

OK it's time to change the subject and move on to something different. I am in the beginning stages of getting big blue ready for this year's camping, driving, and camperjam. She is getting a nice new engine, so I'm ready to put the halves together this weekend. New crank bearings, rod bearings, rod bushings, cam bearings, and a nice new cam. The cam is a little lumpy, not alot but just enough to get up steep hills and mountains.

More progress today with my new engine !!! I got the case together and all seems good, everything turns nice and smooth 😁. It took me 2 trys to get it done, the first time I somehow got the oil pickup cockeyed and the case wouldn't completely seal 😱. So I took it apart and found the issue this was of course done after phoning Russ haha. All is well, now I'm moving onto the pistons n cylinders. I'm going to polish the head intakes before I put those on 🤔😲.

I got some more work done on my engine today, oil pump and oil screen in, plus torqued the case nuts. Now it's lapping cylinders to the heads then install P&Cs. I'm still a little nervous about everything inside the case as that was my first time splitting the case and putting it back together 😲😱

Good for you for taking it on Rob. We are living vicariously thru your efforts... I hope it works out well! I have yet to do the case splitting/closing thing as I just looked over the shoulder of Jerry at Northwest Conn Rod while he did it. I still have to do do one myself, but it is definitely on the list when I do another engine for my truck.

Thx Don, I definitely don't like the stress of wondering if everything is where it's supposed to be.😨
