Don't really know where to put this, but it is helping me under the Bus, so I figured here would be as good a place as any. I don't generally advocate going out to accumulate more "stuff"but this light from Costco is really great! It has two settings, high and medium(if I must quantify them), is lightweight, rechargeable, and sits at a good angle when on the floor, throwing the light up and out. It has a swivel hook, but I have yet to use it. There is no magnetized base or anything. The two setting switch is actually the only thing I would change about it, but that might come in handy at some point. Total length is about 30cm. It was pretty cheap at $25+ tax too.

Neither Tony. You wait till it gets dark then turn on the light and put it up near the ceiling or against a wall so the light is shining nearly parallel with the flat surface. Then you get to see all the goofs and lazy techniques your drywaller made and hopes you won't see. the same technique would probably work for judging bodywork on a Westy. Stan

As opposed to when ones to use a regular light and it doesn't come on, then that's the electrician's fault Stan you are talking "fairness". In boatwork we judged it by running a left hand over the surface. Since the left hand sends signals to the right side of the brain, the artsy side, it is able to feel when the surface is not fair. Not to be confused with life, which is generally not fair

That's interesting, I did not know that, about "fairness" and the left hand. Thanks, I love learning new folderol, which I don't consider either trivial or nonsense, much to my family's disgust. Stan

It's Uber bright and does not burn my hands like the halogen lights ďo. I like it. Life has been fair to me so far. No complaints😊 no-one ever listens to those anyway.

I'm not sure it will work too well for me though- I'm not that Artsy. Sure it will. It is inherent in everyone to some degree, whether they know it or not. You don't have to be outwardly artsy.

Don's right we have lots of "quirks" that are hard wired and probably due to untold numbers of past generations of proto humans who developed them due to survival pressures. Ask someone (not having told them before hand what you are doing) to imagine hard what they will be doing next year. They will automatically turn their eyes upward and to the right. Ask them what they did last month and they will turn their eyes upward to the left. 90% of people do this subconsciously.
The we can get into the topic of body language! Stan
