If you go for the rebuilt units, inspect them carefully!

If you go for the rebuilt units, inspect them carefully! Doh!...How can I test them at the counter? I'm no expert, I guess I could rebuild mine, the '73 is still off the road. Over the past few years I've given in and simply driven my other bus. Maybe I should clear off the workbench and make a Saturday night project out of it. Then again, 42 bucks is a lot of bread to lay down for something you'd still have to do yourself

When I bought rebuilt calipers several years ago, the "rebuilder" managed to put together two mismatched caliper halves with two VERY different sized pistons. The other one turned out to have a cracked housing which was not visible when assembled, but very obvious when taken apart... Keep in mind, all the cores are ancient now, and many came from buses that were seized solid from sitting...

Hmmm, my cores were coaxed back to working a few years ago, but they sat for YEARS before that.
