Sooo, my boss told me I should visit this place, and surprisingly I had never heard of it. Located near the Scale by the Parksville turn off of the old highway. And given the weather was finally fantastic, the bus was pulled out of the garage. Rebecca came along and surprisingly the kid did too. He seems to have grown some more... And there is the bridge itself. It is a cable suspension pedestrian bridge, made entirely of metal. Very well made, too. Various views from the bridge over the Englishman River... Semi-bored teenager... A birdy for Don. Apparently if you walk on this path far enough, you will end up at the better known Englishman River Falls park. I started thinking of a big stack of pancakes while looking at this. MMMM, pancakes dripping with butter and syrup... Definitely worth a visit, and it felt good to get the bus out there on the road again...

A birdy for Don. That there is a Harlequin Duck, a sea duck uncommon in fresh water, more often found in the salt chuck or loafing on an exposed part of kelp/sea grass encrusted shoreline. One of the prettiest ducks IMO. Funnily enough, even with their beautiful colouration they can still be difficult to spot due to those colours actually acting as camouflage. Kinda like some German WW1 and WW2 camo schemes.
