I like to surf the web, and saw one of these a while back. I've always wanted to try and make one Sooooooo, the other day, I picked this up .... (thanks reagh and rob)A lil sanding, some spraying and it is starting to fit more to my house
Tried my hand at wet sanding, and well, I suck ...
So I said, "Fuckit", and did a final spray and put-er back together.
I'll get some hang wire, light bulb sockets, and hopefully have it hanging soon. I found these multi color, remote controlled light bulbs. I'll see what I can rig up. Bought a board for across the top for the shelf, but it was too short. Gotta get the imagination working to figure out the finishing touches

I like it.
I bought an early Ghia dash at Volksfest several years ago with the same sort of idea, but for my garage. I was going to pick up some cheap gauges, use them to practice my resto skills, practice repairing the cut radio hole, practice painting etc.
It was a good idea, but sadly it's still sat in my crawl space.

Brent, you need a cool license plate for that... I thought about something similar. The heavily patinaed decklid off my old '59 would look good on the wall, but it is looking nice in front of Reagh's place right now.

Cool! If you fastened a wooden bar on the wall behind it, and attached it with hinges, you could put some shelves on the wall there and access them by lifting it up from the bottom. Forgive me it's just my creative self musing out text. Stan
