Back again... One of three traditional dune buggies at the show. Liked the keg in the back... There is that type 34 again. Still reminds me of a Corvair, and that is OK because I still want one... For some reason I couldn't remember what bus this interior shot went with... Brain was a bit fuzzy at the time... No doubt some of you are into this kind of thing... There is that cool Brazilian bus again. Was still set up as a passenger bus inside. Was also the only vehicle I managed to pass on my trip back home too! Another somewhat tired looking camper van, still doing it's thing... This bright splitty was getting a lot of attention. Shawn's grey Beetle was looking nice in the warm sun. Mitch's drag Beetle was looking pretty sweet. Mitch likes his turbos... Continued...

Lance's Westy with his friends. There were no shortage of quite nice bay window campers at the show. Mmm, lime. Yet another nice bay, this one was up from Washington State... This highly modified split is from Victoria, and gets around to many different shows. Rob made the trek from Lantzville in his grey Beetle. You know you need to keep it Rob!!! This Beetle and trailer combo are nice. The inside of that trailer looked very inviting and I could have used a nap by then... I like those whitewalls. Of course. There really are not that many bay window passenger buses out there anymore... Another well loved splitty. Continued...

Don't think I have taken a shot of Mitch's interior before. I once had a Formuling wheel on my Beetle, but it wasn't a cool colour matched one... Mitch was also displaying this dune buggy, and I think it was for sale too. Buy it up! The final dune buggy that was there. With my favourite era slot mags. Love em! Peter was in attendance with Tony's old '53. Looking great, and I think he won a prize too. Yet another bright shiny baywindow camper. Lots of the bright colours out this time. Interesting story about this one. The current owners have recently purchased this bus from the previous very long term owners. The current owner worked to maintain this bus over many years, and jumped at the chance to own it when it became available. Cool story... I believe this split made it down to the Seattle show as well. Stan had his Ghia on display, and it is still looking great. I seem to see this Ghia out on the streets all over the place. It sure gets around... This '64 Cabriolet was once a baja bug believe it or not... I don't think I have ever seen this bus before. This old British Ford Prefect, is powered by a Type 1 engine that once resided in Reagh's dune buggy. Apparently... Yet another nice splitty camper. An SO42 Westfalia, as the sign says... Continued...

Another early bay Westfalia. Another late bay Westfalia. No shortage of either... Rob attended in Big Blue of course. Which is still obvious not blue yet, but Rob will get around to it. He was pleased when another orange high-top showed up later, but I was unable to get a picture of it... I don't think I saw this bus before either, and now realize I should have taken a closer look. This one had some big old wide fenders. Paul and family, enjoying a snack in his bus. Another "buggie" of a sort, this one was built years ago, and then rediscovered and bought back by the builder's family. That is cool and it will be fixed up to function again... Something a bit different... So that concluded the third version of Bug Jam. It was a lot of fun and is a must attend event. I know I will be back, and you should too... Now about the trip home. Brent and his friends decided to take the old highway back, as they were going to stay a night at Rathtrevor beach. I just wanted to get home by this stage so stayed on the Inland Highway. This was fine until just after the Horne Lake turnoff. All traffic came to a standstill as something was going on up ahead. You would not believe how many people decided to turn around and go the WRONG WAY down the highway on ramp that was nearby to avoid waiting. Extreme dumbness of the "its all about me" attitude! Anyway, I only was stuck for about 15 minutes, so it was not too bad. And I still had a cooler full of drinks, secret stash of chocolate Pop-Tarts, and Don's new bag of Corn Nuts he forgot in the bus after our Seattle trip. I was prepared... And this turned out to be the cause of the stoppage. Think that might have once been a Dodge, but hard to tell... Anyway it was very nice to get home crawl into bed, but definitely look forward to going and doing it all again next year!

Hey Russ you know how I like buying cool VW's and then selling them for some reason! I used to have a very rusty but complete and running 1964 1500-S type III Ghia that I sold to a guy in Victoria about 15-20 years back , do you know anything about the one at the show?

I believe the red one lives in Gibsons. It was also at GCVW in Vancouver.

That orange Ghia with the old suitcases on the back rack was spotted in Ladysmith at the thrift store on Wed afternoon. Sorry I couldn't make the meeting last Tue, but was in Arthritis Ridge at a family reunion. Stan
