Ran across this the other day and I was wondering when you see a restoration compressed into one hour long program, does it get you inspired or discouraged? Seeing all the steps at once had me reeling a bit. As HighTopRob has said, often it is better to look at a project one step at a time. Some of the quality might be questionable to some, but I figure the guy should get lots of props for first his stick-with-it-ness, and secondly allowing himself to be filmed throughout the whole process of his one man(for the most part), one garage show.

It's both inspiring and discouraging all rolled into one. I agree with HighTopRob, one step at a time. Trying to do everything at once can lead to a rush job.

I think my ignorance is part of what gets me by. If I knew how about all the details, I might have had a negative effect on my willingness to take on some of the jobs I have completed.
I've always been one to start vast projects with only half-vast knowledge.
I know I've certainly bitten off a chunk with this welding learning curve.
Good times though! Byron

I WISH I had half vast knowledge!

I'm think I am usually at about 1/4 vast because every project takes at least 4 times as long…that is if I even get it done

Ok, I finally watched this and enjoyed it for the most part. One thing I noticed was the guy used a lot of cheapo quality parts, but he did say it was a budget build. Those replacement front clips are brutal quality and is probably why he had to modify his hood to fit better. He must have used a very low pressure gun and interesting no attempt was made to cover up anything in his garage from overspray! Smashing the window that hard WILL break it. Give the guy full credit for doing everything himself and ending up with something his wife likes! Hope he fixes his brakes before driving it much farther as that warning light lit up on the test drive...
