This one is for Brent. A 1974 GMC Motorhome. These things are actually a lot more special then you might think. Made with semi-unit construction, a front wheel drive 455 Oldsmobile engine, and very low floor plan... Very comfy, in a '70's sort of way. These units in many cases were fully built by GMC, the only major automaker to have done this. I remember them back in the day and referred to them as "Road Potatoes", and green ones were "Watermelons"... For more info on these interesting machines, check this out... And now some more VWs from up island. This is Mitch's drag Beetle. With turbocharger of course. They are the way forward you know... Two-tone Beetle with a retro vibe going. I would have to agree with the sentiment on the back window. New Beetles are not aging well, and were certainly not the quality of our old air-cooleds... A splitty campervan. Or camper-bus for some of you... I was not familiar with this orange and white split. It had an Orange Crush theme going on, and given it was hot and thirsty, I could have used one... Continued...

When we drove around camping in the 70's in our family Westy, my dad used to drool over these. And now some more VWs from up island. This is Mitch's drag Beetle. With turbocharger of course. Love the GMC motorhome. Watched a few videos on them. Very cool concept. As for the orange split, it's from Courtenay. I believe Ken owns it. I donated the orange thermo lunch bag inside. Glad it find a home like that

That orange and white bus was impressive. There was a photo album showing the work that he had done to it. I think it is safe to say, that most would have either walked away or had to bodge it together somehow. It was originally a large rear hatch and he converted it to the earlier small style. There were a whole host of major body repairs and modifications. Amazing job.
