I don't know if it's year specific or if the table in Betsy has been replaced with something else. The table in question is the one on the drivers side, it folds down toward the floor when stowed. When it's in its upright position it has a single adjustable pole that obviously is supposed to fit into some kind of fixture in the floor. All that remains of mine is a male thread approx 1/4" sticking out the bottom of the pole. Any idea of what that pole is supposed to be threaded into on the floor? Stan ps, serious answers only please (Brent).

My 70 Westy's table leg threaded into the floor mounted female thread receiver. The pole was attached to the table on a foldable mount and swung down when the table was deployed.
A pic or two would be good....

Definitely Don. It's the floor mounted receiver that I don't have then. Is it permanently affixed to the floor via a bolt or something? There's no evidence of anything drilled into the floor in that area, only a couple of rectangular depressions in the general area. Any ideas where I could get a pic of one of the floor receiver so I would at least know what I'm looking for? Stan

Nope nothing like that. Here's the pics. The first one is the bottom of the table support, and the second one is the 3 tiny little holes I found upon closer inspection in the general area of where the table support leg would land if the table were properly installed. Sadly it doesn't look like it's stock. Stan btw these pics aren't too big for anyone are they?

Didn't the threaded end go into the table?

I'll check that Brent. Don, maybe you're right, I was thrown off by the apparent size discrepancy of the photo. It looks like the large middle hole just might be the first round of a female screw thread and the 3 holes might be right for the screw anchors. Stan

I think Don's right, what I need is the table leg support bracket. Anyone out there got one? Stan

Getting that one screw right might be tricky? Stan

Didn't the threaded end go into the table? Not FWICR. It was held in a hinged tubular holder so that it could rotate and be twisted into the floor mount, if memory serves....

Exactly right Don. The "tube" is actually a 2 piece system. It has a detent pin on it that it allows the smaller, lower tube to be extended (upward or downward) so the table will be level, when retracted it allows the table to be folded down so the outer edge fits up against the left wall, just a hair above the floor. The lower end of the smaller tube has a very coarse thread, maybe 2.75mm (8 tpi) that will thread into the single thread "bolt" machined and then bent to allow it to be affixed securely to the floor. I suppose if I could take the bolt out of the bottom end (it appears to be press fit in there) and put a standard 5/8" bolt with the head removed in it's place, I could make a piece of aluminum that I could drill and thread to fit the bolt. It would take a lot more trouble to fit it in when camping every time I wanted to use the table than the original very coarse thread would obviously be easier to use.
Now if I could only get the brake lines all off, grrrrr. Would it be cheating to use an acetylene torch? Or maybe some 6000 m/s primer cord? Stan
