So this was given to me today by a good non-VW friend. He got if from a guy who sold GM parts for a living... Lots of "patina" going on here. If the details are correct, then looks like a barndoor bus (with pressed bumpers too). Mmm, ice-cream! Dash looks to be deluxe spec. Fairly well detailed too. This is the only symbol associated with the maker. What little I could find is this was once the mark of a Japanese toy company called "Yone" Don't spell it "yoni" like I did on a quick internet search, or you will learn something very "interesting"... At any rate I could find no other information whatsoever on this likely very rare toy...

Cool tin VW, but looking at the engine lid/rear hatch I would say it is a bit beyond the Barndoor era. The pressed bumpers would make it early though, say 1955-58. How does it feel to be the owner of a patina'd Splitty Bus(your favourite )?
