Sooo, I finally connected up my new telephone at home (yes it is STILL a land-line), and found a long lost photo album jammed behind the table the phone sits above. So here we go, scanned photos taken in 2003. Amazing that is now 17 years ago... First up are some split buses for your viewing pleasure. Looks like a 21 window in the middle. This Westfalia showed up regularly for a number of years, and was always Brian's favourite. He owned quite a few split buses in his past, including a 1958 Westy. Bet he wishes he had that one back... I guess I was infatuated with my bus to take three different pics of it! This was wasteful in the pre-digital 24 pics to a roll film camera! Still had the 1800 carb-fed engine in it at the time... A line up of some of the other bays that were there at the time. Wonder how many of them are still cruising around today? This Westfalia had a sticker on the back that made me laugh. Although I can't quite make it out in the photo, it said something like "Gordie, should have taken the bus!" This was in reference to Premier Gordon Campbell at the time who had been recently busted for drunk driving while on vacation in Hawaii. Made me laugh, anyway. Continued...

This Type 181 was another VW that always showed up every year. It wasn't the only one, as this picture shows. Not diggin those square lights on the black one... If I remember right, that Fasty had a Type 4 engine installed in it. I never would have guessed I would eventually own one at that stage... This late Beetle was in your face lime green, so you know I liked it... This Beetle always caught my eye, not just because of the colour, but the quality of the build and detailing seemed better then most. Gord must have thought so too... There is Peter's famous Beetle. When it was still owned by him, too. I liked how this '69 Beetle sat. You really didn't need slammed, rimmed, and patina to be cool back then... Don't remember the year, but this black Oval was very nice. Lots of goodies in there. This Oval convertible was under construction, but was still cool. Mmmm, fatty whitewalls... Corrodos were popular at one time, now most have disappeared... Some nice Mk 1 VWs. I preferred the Mk 2 models at the time, and they were VERY popular among the water-cooled crowd back then... Passats like this are all now pretty much extinct... This is still my most favourite Mk 3 GTI. Owned by a co-worker, it was the nicest of the cars he was constantly flipping at that time. Those green taillights were interesting, and the Police hassled him about them, even though they were the correct colours when the lights were on. Like most of his cars, he tired of them quickly and sold them on, often removing the good parts and selling them separately to make more money. This was a common theme among the water cooled crowd, and not surprisingly most of their cars do not survive today. This one definitely does not... Anyway the 24 roll has been used up, and that is it. Hope you enjoyed this little bit-O-history...
