OMG a zero mile Bus!!
A couple of polar opposites next to one another. The car behind is of course a Caddy, but what the heck is that pipsqueak in front?
A Baja done right with Bus reduction gear boxes. Not a fan of the yellow on this Bug, but the +'s outweigh the -'s. After visiting the desert I now understand better why people love these vehicles. I have always loved them especially after my first big boss in Penticton loaned me his for the summer. I had just got my license and he gave me the keys and expected me to show up to work on time. It was a true gift and I showed up for work whenever asked. I was too hesitant(careful; as per my personality) to really put it thru its paces though. What was the work?...Rolling glue to hang wallpaper in 30+ degree heat. The actual hanger guy was a real smoker and we worked many nights(to beat the heat). It was the Sandman Hotel at the north end of Penticton.
Want to get to your camp spot without interference? Convert this and wind up that siren!! I love these things. This was the extra large LT40 version. I believe there are LT 28's and 35's.
Note the late Bay taillights
Finally a hardtop Corvair. Wrong year, wrong colour...right price!
Westfauxlia...get it?
On the turret top
Sleeper Thing
Even down to the proper Thing exhaust thru the bumper!
The last tent had the aisle that the vehicles drove down on their way to the block. A Manx-like Buggy sporting once popular Mustang taillights putts past
The lineup in the final detail area
And that's it. Whew. Hope some found it interesting. Would I go back? Sure, why not, plus it was one helluva lot better than the snow, lol!
Speaking of snow...this Scout I yearned for in the yard beside the place I was staying showed quite the disdain for northerners descending from Minnesota, Illinois etc and no doubt Canada... There is a bumper sticker that reads,"If it's Snowbird season, why can't we shoot 'em?" LOL
