Does anyone have any recommendations on products and methods to remove the opaque UV damage on modern polycarbonate headlights please? I have a 2006 Toyota Matrix and the plastic is now degrading quickly. Thanks!

the last set i did i used 1000 grit,1500 and then 2000grit wet/dry paper followed by 3m finesse it polish.they turned out pretty good but my arms almost fell off. check with your flaps and price out a set of replacements, you may like the price compared to the time spent.

I bought a "kit" from Lordco and it worked well on the Corolla last year. My neighbour "borrowed" it and hasn't returned it yet. The Corolla's headlights are starting to get frosted again so it looks like it'll be a yearly ritual. I forgot the price of new headlights, bad memories like that always fade quickly in my mind. Stna

I did my Echo headlights with NOVUS "fine scratch" remover from Industrial Plastics and Paints. There is NOVUS "heavy scratch" remover and a "polish" available too. I have never used the polish on the headlights. Not totally whether it was meant for the task, but it does work pretty well. As Mitch observes, it is a workout. The downside is that it doesn't last all that long before needing a redo(say 5 months). I did already start a thread on this topic, but it's been a while: miacvw.proboards.com/thread/1248/diy-plastic-headlight-restore-video
