Ok Guys I have a couple questions about my 56 beetle.  There is a electrical connector on my column whats it for? There are 3 rails behind the seats in the passenger foot well and tunnel sides  What are they for? |

column contact is for your horn circuit,no idea on the rails.

looks like your car had alternative seats at some point. Dave you are correct. Upon closer inspection it has a vw mexico stamp on it. P/N 1J0803251 99-05 Jetta seat track. The rails are mounted all the way back to the B pillar and it looks like it interferes with the stock seats sliding back all the way. I want to take them off but one of the many POs have cut the carpet to install them and it would leave some big holes if I remove them. Maybe I will try to make some decrotive kick plates. |
