I'm anticipating problems (1600 dp) when I feed the heater hose from the shroud to the heater box. It'll pass by the after market exhaust header where the hose is sure to burn through. Has anyone had any luck getting around this problem/

There are steel extension tubes that clamp onto the header and replace the missing portion from the stock muffler. I have a pair here if you're interested.

After some late night scrolling , a couple of suggestions state that the aluminum hoses work fine (avoid paper wrapped) plus clamp a beer can on the hose where it passes the header. Replace beer can as needed. I'd like to see the steel tubes Clay has.
