Yes, that’s dirt and I believe I just turned 2000 km. As for living the life, down by the river in a van, sure, thanks, lol

So, I made it home. Just under 5000 kms. Here's some pics ....... Photo shoot for the kid and her friends (pops played limo driver) Canola fields were in full bloom Camping with this lil nugget (her first time camping and it was with her gramps) My friends place, up in the hills above Penticton (look closely and you'll see Okanagon lake) Couple buses headed east, pulled over with engine bays open. I had to turn around and make sure all was well (anyone recognize that blue bus with the rack?) Found this lil road at the Hope Slide. June 29 - Aug 2 Trip to Ab and back, via the Okanagon

That was the original highway before the Hope slide. My brother and I drove up there the day after the Hope slide to see what we could see. The answer was a resounding not much. Cloud, rain & police all conspired to keep us away. That plus some rocks the size of school rooms were still occasionally coming down :-(
The width of that "highway" makes the Greyhound bus driver all the more of a hero. He noticed some small slides were coming down on the highway as he drove along and decided to get the h3ll out of there so he backed his bus over 7 miles down that highway in the pouring rain and pitch black darkness of early morning in January. That's something I could never have done and survived.
btw we felt the earthquake that triggered the slide in Chilliwack. Stan
