The Citroen 2CV was actually considered the French competition to the Beetle. There were quite a lot of these awful little cars on the road in England when I was a kid. You should have seen them lean over when driven round a corner - scary! Nice collection. Hey Mark…did you see this? There is a bit about that body roll... miacvw.proboards.com/thread/100/art-driving-slow

I'm working hard to get a 308 one day (Dreaming really!) Wow! what a collection. That garage blows my mind. I enjoy lurking on Fchat. lol. the shop used to house a 30ft rv and some boat/fishing stuff till i cleaned it out and set up shop.had to improve the lighting and install an air compressor/ lines before i brought in my tools and equipment from my shop at home. this all makes better sense that dragging cars to my house plus its much roomier.(i always had to move one of my cars out to work on what i had brought home). the early 308gt4 in the photos is really a neat little go cart (transverse mounted 3.0 liter 2 valve flat plank v8 that loves to buzz) that predates the magnum pi cars.it is classed as a 2+2 as it has a back seat(for kids or pygmies). i am so lucky to go to work here and repair /preserve this collection (and of course exercise them!) f-cars are NOT for the faint of heart or people with skinny wallets(Me) . i could build you a really nice 2332 weber motor for what a major service runs on a testarossa but luckily my pal (the owner)(anonymous) has a strong heart and a rather thick wallet...see you on f chat. btw.this guy has had f-cars since the late 70s and admits he was dreaming back then...some come true so dont ever stop.

I like the workshop area. Not so sure about the Italian rust buckets though... A Captain I used to work with when I was working away at sea had one - a 306? - I think. He complained constantly about how the insides of the panels weren't painted and it rusted through from the inside out. I don't think that it was designed to live in Northern England... He said the clutch was too heavy to drive in any traffic and eventually sold it at a huge loss. The Citroen 2CV was actually considered the French competition to the Beetle. Nice collection. sorry brit....no rust on these...lol

You did a great job on that space Mitch. Are those skylights in addition to the fluorescents? It looks so inviting, and those fancy collector plated vehicles don't hurt neither Apparently Tom Selleck was too tall for the roofline on the Ferrari 308 (GTS?) that he drove on the series, and that is why they had to have the removable roof version. The GT4 sure looks like a sweet car. I have a feeling I would need driving lessons before I could ever attempt to get behind the wheel though…too much Bus driving Does the owner take the 2CV out when he feels like he needs a break from hectic life, or when he needs to laugh a little? For sure they are all cool cars in their own right and no matter where they come from, the language they speak to a car lover seems to be universal

thanks Don,yeah skylites!(so you can see the black scary clouds!) all the cars are driven regularly! the 2cv is a lot like a bug(you smile as soon as you get in)but for me however the smile soon leaves. underpowered, underbraked, leans like a sportbike and it rips your shirt on the way out!(3 now!) the owners absolutely love this car! Clouseau!! they had one as a dd when they lived in france(go figure)so it brings back a lot of memories. driving lessons? oh yeah!especially the 2cv as the shifter sticks out of the center of the dash! (only the french!) i got out of my porsche and in to the 2cv one day and all was fine until the first corner... HOLY CRAP! i wanted to put my foot out ala motocross to make the corner! you are absolutely correct in the language they speak however

"Did some one say 'driving lessons'?" ....... Certified!!!! .... But I may have to take a test spin to make sure cars are road worthy, lol
