It is with a heavy heart that I am posting my imminent banning from this site. I have for years fought with them to remove the banner add they constantly post on my screen when I attempt to read everyone's posts, to no avail. Now they have started to post a large white box on my screen with no way to remove it other than to click on the "I'll do that later" or some such wording. The reason? I run ad stopping software that I pay for to reduce the amount of banner ads I used to get when I signed up for my Telus internet account when we moved here 8 years ago. The people who run this board want me to remove my ad cancelling software so they can run banners and ads of their own on this site, unless of course I pay them a monthly subscription to Not run ads and banners) . It kind of goes against my grain to pay for one organization to help me get rid of banners and ads on my computer, and then have to pay another organization so they won't run ads and banners on my computer. Quite frankly I consider it outright blackmail. No other forum that I am on does this. The Coleman forum has over 3,000 users and aside from a couple of pleas for volunteer donations over the last 25 years they run it without anything other than one "header" ad at the top of the home page. It's the same for the antique camp stove forum etc. etc. etc. They haven't actually banned me yet, but they are will along the way to forcing me to quit as I won't be able to read any of your postings. I don't know any way out of this unless some of you have any suggestions.
