which seals did you use Rob?? the ones in the gasket set? The seals I used previously when I bolted it together were a creamy white silicone from a gasket set packaged by Scat. I got that set from cip1 a couple years back. I have some others from a elring kit but haven't used them but didn't . The CB tubes are supplied by CB and are Silicone seals and Vinton O rings as I understand it. Do you have a favorite?

what i have used in the last few engines with no issues are the same cb silicone seals as the ones in even the quality gasket sets are garbage. i do not use any thing on them like oil on the orings on type4 or any type of sealant the problem as i see it is tube length as the 191 mm spec wont work on some stroker engines even as mild as a 78mm crank as you have discovered.a lot of builder use the spring loaded tube to combat this issue and some (most)are leakers. i haven't used any of the fancy windage/stainless tubes in any of my builds and would be interested to find out what their flange to flange measurement is.ill bet they are longer than stock as most builders that buy uprated tubes are not building a stock stroke engine.
