Sooo, I received a cool present while visiting Reagh and Rob this weekend... I did not have one of these in my collection. It is a Jim Beam VW decanter in Orange. These things are quite well made considering what their intended use was... I think these represented a flat screen SuperBeetle. Details indicate a 1972-ish design with 1965 and earlier wheels. Also available in Blue. And that is where the "Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey" was stored. Long gone of course, but you can see the remains of the original paper tax label over the cap area. These decanters are quite heavy, and it must have been fun to pour it out of the back of the VW. Always wondered about the dual promotion of VW and a booze company. Interesting... Very cool item however, and these are reasonable easy to find on the internet if you would like one of your own... Now should I try to find a reproduction label for mine???

Not much of a boozer. Somewhere in the house is a Crown Royal still in the original purple bag and box. Dad gave it to me years ago, I think when I turned 19. It was a special bottle anyway, as he bought it back in '69 to celebrate my birth. Wonder if it is still any good???

Think I have another much newer one from the year I graduated high school. That wasn't long ago in 1987... Wait, oh never mind...
