Hi everyone. Hope you all had a good 2021 despite all the doom and gloom. Betsy is now running and although buttoned up for the winter she gets trotted out of her cocoon at least once a month and warmed up. All ready for her new windshield rubber this coming spring and then some camping later. We will be having Christmas dinner with the grandkids in Victoria (everyone vaccinated to the hilt) and then scooting back home before the Malahat is closed down. Nothing in the way of VW gifts this Xmas as we've all sworn off presents this year.
Hope everyone else is planning something nice with family this year, we all deserve it. Merry Christmas to one and all. Stan & Chris & Mark

Well, we are not going anywhere and doing very little. Mom and Dad were coming over for turkey, but this is now unlikely. One of our students is now coughing up a storm, and my kid's friend just tested positive for COVID. Fun times... 2022 really needs to get a lot better...

Ouch, yup that'd keep us at home too.. The WHO is now saying reports out of the UK indicate that 50 per cent of the people who developed both mild and severe symptons reported it started as a sore throat, cough and fever, and felt like the beginnings of a common cold. Scary. first sign of any of that in the grand kids and we're running for the hill. (the Malahat hill that is.) Stan

The kid has several COVID symptoms now. The student, not so much. Both are confined to their rooms.... But in much better news, the apple pies are baking in the oven and the aroma is intoxicating. Mmmmm! Gotta have some positivity!

We did very few gifts this year. I bought my own Playmobil VW Bus, but that's about it. I did finally get a couple of display cases up which gives me hope I will see my toys again before the shop is built(which is currently bound up in red tape...
I hope all have happy holidays and can feel at least a bit of relief from the stress of what is going on out there these days(sorry to hear Victor isn't doing well Russ. He's a strong kid, here's hoping his immune system can extinguish any onslaught).
Cheers, Don

Victor is currently looking for dessert, so he must be feeling somewhat better...

Sorry to hear that you have illness in the house for Christmas Russ. Hope everyone is doing okay.
I was on call for Christmas and was lining up for a 2pm ship from Victoria to Cowichan Bay. Then one of my colleagues whose kids have grown up offered to do the job for me so that I could spend the day with my family. There really are some amazing people in the World. Ron is just finishing up his Bay bus too, so you might get to meet him one day. Top chap!
Merry Christmas everyone.

Mmmm! This was one of two, and they were quite nummy! Victor is feeling significantly better now. The student managed to get his hands on a self-test kit from one of his German friends, and his results were negative, so he is out hanging with friends again. On the other hand, Victor will not be going anywhere for awhile anyway as his car is nicely "snowed-in"...
