Just some random pics out the window... And this was before it REALLY came down... Yesterday... This morning... Lots of shoveling both here and at the parent's house. Lots more to come, too!

And now some shots from Reagh's place. Hard to tell where the ground and shelter meet! Some VW shaped lumps under that snow... Rob's trailer is growing some impressive icicles! More water-cooled VW shaped lumps. Lots more snow at Reagh's place, which is located at the base of a mountain in case you did not know... And Reagh can admire nice snow covered VWs right out of his window. Cool! Now who else has some nice snow pics???

Nice that you parked it blocking in the 4WD FJ... You mean the FJ with worn out tires? You might note the nose of the AWD Volvo with brand new snow tires behind the Rabbit. That's what is doing the daily duty being that we have to ferry seniors around.... On another note, why didn't the Scion get that expensive car cover installed? Or is it that Victor is driving it around on those summer tires?

I just had to replace my Nokian Rotiva all weather, snow flake and mountain rated tyres on the Tacoma. The tyres were 4 years old and had around 70% tread remaining. Last year, they were great in the snow. This year, I might as well have had slicks.
A lot of money later it now has Michelin X Ice snows on it. I drove it back to Nanaimo from Victoria on Wednesday evening in the beginning of that snow storm. The traction was so good, it was like driving a different vehicle. It was amusing and scary to watch some of the vehicles trying to navigate the Malahat in a couple of inches of slushy snow and ice.
It's nice to have my truck back again!

Barry at Cedar Tire told me a story of picking some great winter tires at huge cost(even to him he said) for his wife's SUV. Turned out they lasted one season because the temps here just weren't consistently low enough. He was choked. And he knows his tires(even better now!). Anyhow, I think we have the same tires as you now have Mark, and the tank drives really well with hardly a slip. Not much fun, but Laurie would prefer not to have that kind of fun, nor I with seniors in the car.
