There are stainless steel bumpers available for Ghias now. I have read some comments on fitment issues, but it sounds like the company manufacturing them have improved their process over time. From what I hear they're not quite as heavy duty as OG Vw, but they're a decent substitute. I have not heard any issues on rusting. I am not aware of any cheapo tinfoil repops for Ghias like you used to get for the Beetles. It's a long post. Realistically the last few pages cover most of what you need to know. www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=168618&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=760The boys at AVR stock those SS bumpers (well, for Beetles...they can certainly get them for Ghias). It's worth calling Rob to ask about them, and about the fitment. Certainly easier to deal with a local dealer than direct with Vietnam.

Jeff is aware of the stainless bumpers, and that is likely what he will go with. He does not want to use the stock overriders. I will let him know AVR might be able to get them...

The stainless bumpers are available in Euro style without the towel rails, although they still have the small over riders covering the joint in the bumper blades. They're much tidier in my opinion.
