Untitled by Dave Hord, on Flickr The engine deck lid supports, the curved part that bolts to the body...and the hinge then bolts to it. Are these different between early and late models? My 58 has one that is cracking and failing, can I just snag one off a late model parts car...or do I need an early? You would think I'd be smart enough to compare when I have two cars side-by-side, but of course I've since moved the '58 to off-site storage and forgot to look (or take photos) -Dave

Officially, there are 3 springs. Up to '55 '56 to '64 '65 - '79
Although CIP1 shows that piece of shit chrome one as fitting '46-'79.
So there's that.

The brackets seem to be one size fits all.

Spring mounts on the decklids changed. I'm not sure if the firewall bracket was consistent throughout. '55 down were the bigger springs. 56-64 were the one piece springs and 65 up were those two piece hinged spring assemblies.
I've never noticed any difference with the decklid mounting brackets, they all go in the same box here.
